Muhlbauer begins as a small millinery in 1903. Since then, the store has been passed from generation to generation to become the well-established hat store it is today. In 2001, Klaus Muhlbauer is appointed to become the store’s 4th generation designer and creative director. Based on the Austrian born “Tyrolean hat” style, he inherits traditional skills and history cultivated with artisans to express a sense of high fashion and playfulness with the use of carefully selected materials.
